The Yemeni government approved its draft work program for the year 2026, which includes six integrated strategic priorities, most notably security and economic aspects.
The government program is based on commitment to the general goal of the state, achieving economic and social stability, alleviating the suffering of citizens, regular payment of salaries, rationalizing spending, protecting the national currency, and ensuring a minimum level of economic certainty to sustain stability and its reflection on the lives of citizens, according to what was published by the official “Saba” news agency.
In its work program, the Yemeni government identified six integrated strategic priorities, including: consolidating political and security stability and extending state sovereignty; achieving economic stability and recovery; sustaining basic services, improving their quality and integration, and ensuring fair access to them; and strengthening institutional governance, digital transformation, and the rule of law.
The government’s priorities also included strengthening community cohesion, empowering human capital, and enhancing effective partnership with the international community while strengthening developmental and diplomatic cooperation relations to achieve recovery, development, and mutual interests.
The Council praised the efforts of the ministerial committee that prepared the program, chaired by the Minister of Local Administration, emphasizing the incorporation of observations submitted by Council members.
During his presidency of the government meeting, the Prime Minister, Dr. Shaya al-Zindani, stressed that the draft government work program and its priorities for the year 2026 are a national commitment before the people, the Presidential Leadership Council, and regional and international partners.
The Yemeni Prime Minister pointed out that the program was prepared based on the general framework of the Economic Recovery Plan 2025-2026, and in accordance with the Presidential Leadership Council Resolution No. (11) of 2025 regarding economic reform priorities.
