Prime Minister: Yemen Needs Support to End the Coup, not “Crisis Management” Efforts
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Yemen’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani, affirmed during his meeting with the German Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Schneider, that international support for Yemen’s legitimate government is not merely a political stance, but an investment in regional stability, the security of international navigation, and counterterrorism.
He expressed hope that support would shift from managing the crisis to addressing its root causes by backing the completion of state restoration, ending the Iran-backed Houthi coup, and taking more decisive measures against practices that undermine peace prospects.
The prime minister also outlined the key features of the government’s urgent program through the end of the current year, noting the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia in supporting Yemen politically, economically, and developmentally.
For his part, the German ambassador renewed his country’s congratulations to the prime minister on the formation of the new government and affirmed Germany’s support for its efforts and vision to achieve stability, reforms, economic recovery, and the alleviation of Yemenis’ suffering.
He also stressed Germany’s commitment to continuing partnership with the government in humanitarian and development fields, in a way that meets the Yemeni people’s aspirations for security, stability, and the restoration of the state.
