Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Yemeni Army announced on Saturday the death of three of its soldiers during clashes with the Houthi group northeast of Taiz city, in the southwestern part of the country.
A military source in the Taiz Axis told Yemen Monitor that “three members of the National Army and the Popular Resistance were martyred in the Al-Hamad and Al-Zahra fronts, following clashes that broke out with the Houthis northeast of the city.”
The source identified the deceased as:
- Awad Muhammad al-Sufi
- Ahmed Fouad Seif al-Salwi
- Sadiq Abdulkarim al-Azzani
In a related report, the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba), quoting a military source in the Taiz Axis, stated that army forces foiled an infiltration attempt by Houthi elements toward military positions on the Al-Hamd front. This led to violent confrontations that spread to neighboring fronts.
The source added that the clashes resulted in the death of three Houthi members, while army forces forced the remaining attackers to retreat after successfully neutralizing the infiltration attempt.
