Local sources reported the killing of Dr. Wafaa Muhammad Saif Sarhan inside her home by unidentified gunmen after they stormed the house in the early hours of Saturday morning in areas controlled by the Houthi group in Taiz.
The sources stated that unidentified gunmen attempted to storm the home of citizen Saeed Al-Asali, then opened fire on the windows, leading to the death of the doctor, who was married to citizen Ghassan Al-Asali, in the isolation of Al-Asayla, Nakhlah area, in the Sharab Al-Salam district, which is under Houthi group control.
They clarified that the gunmen proceeded to kill Dr. Wafaa Sarhan in front of her children and then fled. The crime has been met with widespread condemnation by the local community, and the identity and motives of the gunmen remain unknown.
