Aden Security Committee Discusses the Timeline for Redeploying Military Camps and Strengthening Stability

The Security Committee in Aden Governorate discussed today the time-bound executive measures for the plan to redeploy military camps and units outside the boundaries of the temporary capital, as part of efforts to enhance security and stability and to reinforce the city’s civilian character.

This came during a meeting of the committee chaired by the Minister of State in the caretaker government and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, with the participation of several deputy governors and military and security leaders. The meeting reviewed the level of security conditions across Aden’s districts, existing challenges, and mechanisms to improve security performance and strengthen coordination among the relevant agencies.

The meeting addressed the practical steps for implementing the camp redeployment plan in a way that contributes to improving the security situation and reducing armed presence within the city. It also discussed the vehicle registration project as a supporting measure to enhance security control and curb violations.

Governor Sheikh affirmed that implementing these measures is part of a comprehensive vision aimed at consolidating security and stability and creating a safe environment for citizens. He stressed the importance of adherence to institutional work and discipline, and of implementing plans according to clear timelines.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Security Committee called for intensified efforts, continued evaluation of security performance, and enhanced coordination among the various security agencies, in order to ensure sustained stability and strengthen public trust in official institutions in the temporary capital, Aden.
