Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Minister of State in the caretaker government and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, stated that the local authority represents an integrated functional system based on institutional coordination and collective action, rather than individual efforts.

During his first meeting with the directors of Aden’s districts, he added that the core mission of the local authority is to serve the community and meet the needs of its citizens.

Governor Sheikh discussed the priorities for the upcoming phase with the district directors, focusing on mechanisms to enhance administrative and service performance and directing efforts toward improving the quality of services provided to the public.

He emphasized that the 2026 Investment Program must focus on projects with a direct impact on citizens’ lives, contributing to the provision of basic services across all districts. The Governor listened to briefings from district directors outlining the most prominent challenges and obstacles facing their workflow, urgent service requirements, and proposals for performance development. He affirmed his commitment to addressing these observations and following up on them to serve the public interest within available resources.

He concluded by stressing that the coming stage requires concerted efforts and a high sense of responsibility to fulfill citizens’ aspirations.
