Member of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Receives Southern Leaders, Stresses Importance of Enhancing Unity and Resolving Issues Through Dialogue

Member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Abdullah Al-Alimi, received on Saturday a number of southern leaders arriving from the temporary capital, Aden, upon invitation from Saudi Arabia. They were headed by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Bureik, the former governor of Hadramawt, and the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Committee, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi.
During the meeting, Al-Alimi emphasized the importance of strengthening southern cohesion at the current stage the country is going through. He stressed that what is happening does not represent the victory of one party over another, nor is it based on the logic of victor and vanquished. Rather, it comes within the framework of correcting the national course, restoring the state and its institutions to their rightful place, and preserving public stability.
Al-Alimi referred to his rejection of excluding any southern cadre from any component or current, appreciating the sincere national stances towards the South and its just cause. He emphasized that addressing national issues must be done through dialogue and responsibility, to prevent the country from sliding into new internal conflicts.
The member of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed that the Southern issue is a national priority and that the Southern Dialogue Conference sponsored by the Kingdom constitutes an inclusive umbrella that accommodates all southern components without exclusion, leading to a just vision that expresses the aspirations of all the people of the South.
For their part, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Bureik and Mohammed Al-Ghaithi expressed their appreciation for meeting with Al-Alimi, stressing the importance of this meeting in supporting reconciliation efforts and enhancing national unity.
All parties emphasized the pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia in sponsoring the Comprehensive Southern Dialogue Conference, considering this sponsorship a serious path that enjoys regional and international support and ensures placing the Southern issue on its correct path according to the will of the people of the South.
