Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik affirmed that imposing any levies or fees outside the framework of the law—including those enforced through security checkpoints—constitutes a fully-fledged criminal offense.
The Prime Minister warned against negligence or complicity in stopping illegal levy checkpoints, vowing to hold all those involved accountable.
Bin Buraik instructed ministries, relevant authorities, and local authorities in the governorates not to impose any levies or fees outside the law, announcing the start of a new phase titled “Enforcing the Law and Restoring the Authority of the State.”
The Prime Minister placed full responsibility on the ministries, relevant bodies, and local authorities, clarifying that the government will take strict legal and security measures against these crimes without exception, in order to protect citizens’ rights and prevent their exploitation.
