Revocation of Aidarous al-Zubaidi ‘s Membership and Dismissal of Transport and Planning Ministers… Decisive Decisions from the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council

The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council held an emergency meeting today, Wednesday, chaired by President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, and attended by Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Mujalli.
The meeting focused on the security and military developments in the southern provinces, based on the statement from the leadership of the Joint Forces of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, which revealed the escalation by some rebel leaders and the obstruction of de-escalation efforts.
The Council reviewed a detailed briefing on the repercussions of one of its members failing to respond to the invitation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with unilateral moves that represent a departure from the frameworks of the transitional phase and undermine efforts to protect civilians and prevent the spread of violence.
The Council decided to immediately revoke the membership of Aidarous Qasim al-Zubaidi and refer him to the Public Prosecutor on charges of high treason, harming the Republic’s political and economic standing, obstructing the confrontation of the coup, and inciting internal strife.
The meeting also approved the dismissal of Minister of Transport Abdulsalam Hameed and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Badhib from their positions and referred them for investigation, along with pursuing and apprehending those involved in distributing weapons and threatening civil peace to bring them to justice.
The Council emphasized that the state will deal firmly with any violations to ensure respect for the rule of law and the protection of public rights and freedoms.
The Council affirmed the importance of the unity of military and security decision-making and respect for the chain of command as fundamental pillars, with accountability for any serious violator in accordance with the constitution and the law.
The Council approved urgent measures, including tasking the relevant authorities with protecting civilians and facilities in Aden and the liberated provinces, unifying the command over military and security formations, and preventing any movements outside the framework of the state.
The Council renewed its appreciation for the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the Coalition leadership in de-escalation, protecting civilians, and stabilizing security, affirming the state’s commitment to implementing its sovereign decisions and preserving its legal standing.
The Council valued the national stances of the people of Aden and the liberated provinces in defending the republican system and state institutions, calling on citizens to cooperate with the security agencies and report any threats to security or civilians.
