Second Military Region Affirms Its Hold on Camps Amid Aerial Escalation in Wadi Hadramawt

The Second Military Region in Hadramawt, aligned with the Southern Transitional Council (STC), has affirmed that its military camps and positions will remain under its full responsibility, stressing that they are part of the military institution and that none of them will be handed over.

In a statement, the Second Military Region said that the Hadrami Elite Forces have continued to carry out their national and security duties since their establishment, and were at the forefront of forces that made sacrifices and contributed to the liberation of the Hadramawt coast from terrorist organizations. It emphasized that these efforts played a direct role in entrenching the security and stability currently witnessed in the coastal areas.

The statement renewed the commitment of the Hadrami Elite Forces to protecting the coast of Hadramawt and its people, preserving security and social peace, and safeguarding public and private property.

In a related context, local sources reported shelling that targeted positions belonging to the First Military Region and the surroundings of Seiyun Airport, after the airport was turned into a military barracks and air traffic there was suspended.

Military sources confirmed that the shelling struck heavy weapons and weapons depots in the area.

Meanwhile, media outlets affiliated with the STC reported that Saudi aircraft carried out three new airstrikes targeting Seiyun civilian airport in Wadi Hadramawt, noting that the scope of the aerial bombardment has expanded to include civilian and sovereign facilities in the area.
