Syria has expressed a supportive stance toward Yemen’s legitimate government, affirming its backing of Yemen’s unity and sovereignty amid the ongoing developments on the Yemeni scene.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is closely following developments in Yemen, pointing to the importance of regional and international efforts aimed at advancing the political process and easing the humanitarian burdens facing the Yemeni people.
Damascus also expressed its appreciation for the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to initiatives that contribute to supporting stability and creating suitable conditions for reaching a political solution.
The ministry emphasized that Syria’s position stems from its support for any efforts that enhance security and stability in Yemen and the region, encourage comprehensive political solutions based on respect for state sovereignty and territorial unity, and reject anything that could lead to further escalation of crises or undermine regional peace.
