Local Authority in Al-Mahra Announces Cooperation with “Nation’s Shield” to Hand Over Vital Sites

The local authority in Al-Mahra Governorate issued an official statement on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, expressing its full support for the sovereign decisions issued by the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, within the framework of the nationwide declaration of a state of emergency.
The statement—which included the governorate’s administrative, political, military, security, tribal, and social components—affirmed Al-Mahra’s commitment to implementing these decisions. It expressed appreciation for the trust placed in the governors of Al-Mahra and Hadramawt to manage the affairs of the two governorates during these exceptional circumstances.
The local authority announced its full readiness to cooperate with the Nation’s Shield forces to hand over camps and vital sites in the governorate, ensuring a smooth and secure transition of military responsibilities that protects the interests of citizens and prevents bloodshed.
The statement also extended deep gratitude to the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for its continuous support for Yemen’s security and stability. Al-Mahra considers the Kingdom a reliable strategic partner and an effective regional depth.
The local authority called upon the people of the governorate, as well as the security and army forces, to unite and rally behind the legitimate leadership to implement these decisions uniformly, preserving the security of the governorate and the stability of the nation.
