UAE: Prisoner Exchange Agreement Alleviates Suffering and Supports Stability in Yemen

The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the Yemeni prisoner and detainee exchange agreement reached in Muscat. The UAE described the deal as a positive humanitarian step that will alleviate the suffering of Yemenis and support efforts toward regional and local stability.

In a statement, the UAE commended the Sultanate of Oman for its role in hosting and facilitating the negotiations, as well as the cooperation of Saudi Arabia. It also praised the contributions of the Office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), emphasizing that the agreement serves as a vital milestone for building trust and opening broader horizons for peace.

The UAE reaffirmed its unwavering support for all regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution. Such a solution, the statement noted, is essential to ending the Yemeni crisis, easing the humanitarian plight of the Yemeni people, and paving the way for a future defined by security, stability, and development.
