Sudden Closure of Seiyun International Airport and Cancellation of All Flights

Yemen Monitor Newsroom:
Informed sources at Seiyun International Airport in Hadramawt Governorate announced the cancellation of all scheduled flights for Thursday, December 11th, 2025, most notably the flight scheduled on the Cairo-Seiyun-Cairo route.
Sources within Yemenia Airways stated that aircraft and the airport were prepared to receive and dispatch flights. However, high-level orders were issued to halt air traffic, forcing the airline to cancel the flight bound for the Egyptian capital, Cairo, today.
This sudden closure is part of undisclosed administrative procedures. The decision has caused discontent among travelers and residents who had hoped for the resumption of air traffic and the strengthening of links between Hadramawt and other countries.
Aviation sources confirmed that the decision is official and will remain in effect until further notice, reflecting a clear impact on air traffic in the region.
