Clashes in Taiz: Yemeni Army Targets Houthi Positions East of the City

The eastern frontlines of Taiz city (southwest Yemen) witnessed clashes today, Sunday, between forces of the Yemeni National Army and the Houthi group, involving various weapons and an exchange of artillery shelling.

A military source told “Yemen Monitor” that fighting erupted between the Yemeni Army forces and the Houthis on the eastern front of Taiz city, and that residential neighborhoods were subjected to heavy Houthi shelling.

The source added that the Army forces shelled Houthi positions with a tank, targeting those located near the Mohammed Ali Othman School and its vicinity in eastern Taiz.

It is worth noting that two soldiers from the Yemeni Army forces fell over the past two days on the city’s eastern frontlines. The deceased were identified as Zakaria Al-Athwari and Ahmed Abdullah Al-Awadhi, both affiliated with the 22nd Mechanized Brigade.
