STC Forces Invades Al-Mahra: Military Assault on Al-Ghaydah Amid Withdrawal of Homeland Shield Forces

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Al-Mahra province has witnessed new military developments following the withdrawal of the Homeland Shield Forces, affiliated with the Presidential Leadership Council headed by Rashad Al-Alimi, from their positions in the city of Al-Ghaydah.
Meanwhile, large reinforcements belonging to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) have arrived in Al-Mahra from the city of Al-Mukalla. These reinforcements include fighters from several provinces, most notably Al-Dhale’a, and have positioned forces in Al-Ghaydah while other groups continue toward the Shahen district—the Yemeni border crossing with Oman.
Media outlets affiliated with the STC claimed that these reinforcements aim to “enhance security and stability” in the border province. Concurrently, Homeland Shield Forces continue to secure key government facilities, especially Al-Ghaydah Airport.
