The National Bloc of Yemeni Parties and Political Components has issued an important statement warning of a rapid deterioration in conditions across government-held areas, with particular concern over Hadramawt, which until recently had been viewed as a model of stability. The bloc said the governorate is witnessing a clear slide toward chaos and division, raising fears of potential violent confrontations that could jeopardize the stability of what was once the calmest region in the country.
Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher, head of the bloc, stressed that responsibility for the current situation rests with all parties operating under the umbrella of legitimacy. He reaffirmed the bloc’s support for any efforts aimed at preserving the Yemeni state’s legitimacy and its legal and constitutional standing. He added that the limited time remaining necessitates urgent steps to strengthen the authority of the legitimate government and translate it into a tangible reality under the leadership of the President and the Presidential Leadership Council.
The statement emphasized that confronting the Houthi coup and restoring state institutions is not a temporary task but an ongoing struggle. It underscored the need to unite national civilian and military forces under the leadership of the Presidential Council to ensure the success of these missions. The bloc also extended its greetings to the Yemeni people on the 58th anniversary of national independence, calling the occasion a historic milestone reflecting the sacrifices made by Yemenis for freedom and sovereignty.
Bin Dagher reaffirmed that the bloc’s support for the Supreme Council will remain constant in the effort to defeat the coup and prevent Iranian influence over the country. He called for upcoming measures to be characterized by discreet implementation and a strong commitment to national unity. The statement concluded with a prayer for Yemen’s glory, mercy for its martyrs, and victory for the republic, stressing the importance of political unity in confronting current challenges.
According to political sources cited in the statement, the coming phase will bring critical challenges that require unified ranks to safeguard the gains of legitimacy and prevent further deterioration of security and political conditions in areas under the internationally recognized government.
