Taiz Police Apprehend 67 out of 70 Crimes That Occurred During November

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior stated that the security agencies in Taiz governorate recorded 67 criminal and non-criminal incidents out of a total of 70 crimes during the month of November, achieving an apprehension rate of 96%.

The Security Media Center, citing the Criminal Investigation Department, mentioned that the Taiz police apprehended 92 defendants in connection with these crimes out of a total of 104 accused persons during November.

The Criminal Investigation Department indicated that among the accused were 6 females who were apprehended and referred to the Public Prosecution, with one female still at large. The total number of victims reached 91 people, including one person killed, one suicide, and only two injured.

It was also noted that 63 crimes and cases were referred to the Public Prosecution, 3 cases were referred to other specialized authorities, and 3 cases are still under investigation. Only one case was resolved through reconciliation and the victim’s waiver of their complaint.

The recorded crimes during November, classified according to the penal code, were distributed as follows:

  • 54 crimes against persons and family.
  • 15 crimes/cases violating public morals.
  • 1 crime of forgery.
