The South Aden Appeals Prosecution on Tuesday destroyed a large quantity of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances at the Bir Ahmed landfill, including 18,000 strips of Pregabalin pills with a concentration of 300 mg. The destruction was carried out as part of the Public Prosecution’s ongoing efforts to combat drugs and limit their spread.

The disposal operation took place in the presence of Judge Fadl Al-Zaidi, representative of the head of the South Aden Appeals Prosecution; Colonel Mayas Al-Ja’dani, Director of Counter-Narcotics; Judge Bassam Al-Sayyid, Deputy Prosecutor of Khor Maksar; and Judge Ahmed Abdullah Saif Al-Subai’i, member of the Khor Maksar Primary Prosecution.

The seized items are linked to case No. (66) of 2025, in which Ahmed Abdullah Ali Saleh Al-Ta’asi and Abdulmajid Ali Abdullah Al-Ta’asi are accused of possessing and smuggling Pregabalin strips from warehouses in Aden to Sanaa.

The seizure was carried out at the Dofes security checkpoint on January 1, 2025, following joint tracking and monitoring by the Security Belt Forces and the Counter-Narcotics Department, before the case was referred to the Public Prosecution, legal procedures were completed, and the destruction was executed today.

The South Aden Appeals Prosecution affirmed that it will continue its work in coordination with security agencies to pursue individuals involved in drug-related cases, stressing the firm enforcement of the law against anyone attempting to bring these substances into society or promote them.
