Dutch Delegation Discusses Developing Agriculture, Water, and Fisheries in Yemen

Yemeni Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Salem Al-Saqatri, met today in Aden with a Dutch delegation headed by the First Secretary for Water Resources Management at the Dutch Embassy. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the agricultural, water, and fisheries sectors, and following up on the implementation of the Integrated Water Management Project in Wadi Hajr, funded by the Netherlands.

The Minister appreciated the ongoing support of the Dutch government, noting that the projects focus on sustainable development and improving infrastructure in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, reflecting an effective partnership and a long-term developmental vision.

Al-Saqatri also reviewed the Ministry’s efforts in preparing national strategies for agriculture and fisheries in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to identify priorities and necessary interventions for advancing both sectors.

For her part, the Dutch First Secretary emphasized her country’s keenness to continue supporting Yemen and enhancing joint cooperation to ensure maximum benefit from the agricultural and fisheries development programs.
