Al-Arada Discusses with German Ambassador Intensifying Support to Address the Worsening Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen

Sultan Al-Arada, a member of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, confirmed that the humanitarian crisis in Yemen is worsening day by day due to Houthi practices and their undermining of opportunities for achieving the just and comprehensive peace desired by all Yemenis.
During his meeting with the German Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Schneider, Al-Arada discussed ways to enhance development cooperation and intensify German support in light of the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by the Yemeni people.
Al-Arada stressed the utmost importance of increasing humanitarian interventions and transitioning from the stage of emergency relief to the stage of sustainable development.
The member of the Leadership Council called for the necessity of expanding the scope of humanitarian and developmental support, backing government efforts in rebuilding state institutions, revitalizing the national economy, and enhancing society’s ability to withstand crises.
For his part, German Ambassador Thomas Schneider affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen historical friendly relations, continue supporting Yemen in its development path, and contribute to achieving stability. He reiterated Germany’s commitment to “working with the government and partners to improve conditions and expand areas of future cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly peoples.”
