Houthis Commit Horrific Murder of Elderly Sheikh in Ibb

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Ibb Governorate in Yemen witnessed a new tragic incident on Saturday, adding to the record of violations occurring in the region, where an elderly sheikh was subjected to an armed attack inside his home.

Local sources reported that Sheikh Ahmed Hameed Senan Al-Juma’ai, from the Al-Qafr District in Ibb Governorate, was killed during an armed confrontation with elements belonging to the Houthi group on the morning of Saturday, November 1, 2025.

According to local accounts, armed men surrounded the victim’s house from all sides, forcing him to defend himself in a confrontation that lasted for about a full hour.

The confrontation resulted in the death of Sheikh Al-Juma’ai, the injury of one of his family members, in addition to wounding a number of the attackers. Following the incident, the militia arrested the victim’s sons and looted his property.

Information indicates that this incident is not the first of its kind, as Sheikh Al-Juma’ai had previously faced disputes with other parties supported by the Houthis and had been targeted by them on previous occasions.

It is noted that the case of Sheikh Al-Juma’ai closely resembles that of Saleh Hantous, as both victims shared the characteristic of being opponents of the armed group.

This incident reflects the continuation of the policy of physical liquidation pursued by the group against its opponents in areas under its control.

Local activists are appealing to national media outlets to document such crimes and expose them to public opinion, emphasizing that the rights of the victims do not expire with time.
