Yemeni Presidential Council Praises Achievements in Combating Terrorism and Cells Colluding with Houthis

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Presidential Leadership Council praised the qualitative achievements made by the armed forces, security agencies, and all military formations in combating terrorism and pursuing criminal cells colluding with the Houthis, which are supported by the Iranian regime.
During its meeting today, chaired by Council Chairman Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, the Council reaffirmed the state’s steadfast commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and working closely with regional and international partners to build the capacities of the relevant security agencies.
According to the official Saba News Agency, the meeting, attended by Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Breik, was dedicated to discussing security developments and the situation of the intelligence agencies involved in efforts to combat terrorism, terrorist financing, and organized crime.
The Council reviewed a report from the Committee for the Integration of Security and Intelligence Agencies within the Central State Security Apparatus, established by Decision No. (5) of 2024 by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council. It emphasized its support for the executive plans aimed at completing the integration process, unifying efforts for information gathering and analysis, and enhancing the effectiveness of security work to ensure the building of a professional national apparatus.
In this context, the Council welcomed the successes achieved by the Mixed Task Forces led by the Royal Saudi Navy, as well as the outcomes of recent international operations that thwarted attempts to smuggle large shipments of drugs and weapons. These efforts are part of regional and international initiatives to protect the security of the Red Sea, international navigation lines, and deter destabilizing activities linked to Iranian networks and their proxies in the region.
The Council considered the security of the Red Sea a pillar of regional and international stability, noting that the terrorist Houthi militias’ practices—from smuggling weapons and drugs to targeting commercial ships—pose a direct threat to maritime peace and the economic interests of the peoples of the region and the world. This necessitates closer national and international coordination at all levels.
The Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of adopting an inclusive national discourse that immortalizes the sacrifices of the heroes of the armed forces and security agencies, strengthens unity, mobilizes all national forces in confronting projects of terrorism and destruction, and supports ongoing development and reform efforts. This aligns with the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability, and peace.
The Presidential Leadership Council held its meeting in the presence of its members Sultan Al-Arada, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Faraj Al-Bahsani, while Tariq Saleh and Othman Majli attended via video conference. Council member Aidarous Al-Zubaidi was absent with an excuse.
It is worth noting that the Council held its third consecutive meeting in the last three days amid negotiations between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia in Oman, under UN sponsorship, and the complete absence of the legitimate government.
