Families of Taiz Martyrs Protest for Justice Against Alleged Killers Sheltering in Mocha

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

A number of families of martyrs and victims in the city of Taiz held a protest in front of the Governorate building, demanding justice and the enforcement of the law against murder suspects who have fled to the Mocha district, which is controlled by the National Resistance Forces led by Brigadier General Tariq Saleh.

Protesters raised photos of their sons and banners expressing their anger, asserting that the killers are receiving protection and cover in Mocha, and demanding their swift arrest and handover to justice.

The participants issued a statement emphasizing the need to pursue the fugitive killers on the Western Coast and refer them to the judiciary to receive their just and deterrent punishment for the crimes they committed against their sons.

The victims’ families also directed an urgent appeal to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, and the Ministers of Interior and Defense, calling on them to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in following up on this case.

The protesters affirmed that leniency in pursuing the killers threatens social peace and encourages impunity, stressing that those who committed the crimes, as well as anyone who provides them with protection or conceals them, must be held accountable.
