Elderly Woman Injured by Houthi Landmine in Al-Bayda, Central Yemen

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

An elderly woman sustained severe injuries following the explosion of a Houthi remnant landmine in Al-Madabi village, Al-Zaher district, in the Al-Bayda Governorate, central Yemen.

The Yemen Mine Observatory stated that the woman, named Nadhra Saleh Al-Habji, is about 70 years old and suffered serious wounds as a result of the explosion.

This incident is part of a long series of explosions that have resulted in thousands of civilian casualties—dead and wounded—across several Yemeni governorates, caused by the landmines planted by the Houthis since the outbreak of the war over 11 years ago.

The Observatory emphasizes the continuing danger that landmines pose to the local population amidst the ongoing armed conflict and the expanding areas containing mines, which increasingly impede civilian life.
