Armed Men Shut Down Aden Al-Ghad Newspaper Headquarters and Arrest Editor-In-Chief Fathi Bin Lazrq

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
A troubling raid took place in Yemen’s temporary capital, Aden, targeting the headquarters of the independent newspaper Aden al-Ghad.
Local sources reported that an armed group stormed the newspaper’s offices on Saturday, shutting it down completely by force.
The paper’s editor-in-chief, Fathi bin Lazrq, confirmed his own arrest in a brief post on his personal Facebook page, without disclosing the identity of those behind the operation.
The incident comes amid the control of Aden by military and security forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC), raising questions about who was responsible for the raid.
No official statement has been issued clarifying the reasons for the operation or the entity behind it, at a time when press freedom faces growing challenges in areas under the STC’s control.
