Taiz Military Axis Denies Statement on Banning Children from Traveling
Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
The Media Center of the Taiz Military Axis on Saturday denied the authenticity of a statement circulating on social media, which was attributed to the Axis leadership and the provincial police, claiming a ban on children traveling through checkpoints without their guardians.
Colonel Abdulrahman Al-Yousifi, Director of the Media Center, confirmed that the statement was “fabricated” and did not come from any official authority. He warned against the dangers of spreading such rumors, stressing that it constitutes a crime punishable by law.
Al-Yousifi urged journalists and activists to verify the accuracy of information before publishing and to avoid following unverified sources, emphasizing the need to rely only on official statements.
Earlier, social media pages had circulated a statement allegedly from the Taiz Security Committee claiming a decision to prohibit children from traveling without their parents to counter kidnappings—an announcement that the Taiz Military Axis has categorically denied.
