Civilian Casualties from a Landmine Planted by Houthis on a Desert Road in Northeastern Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Two civilians were killed and eight others wounded on Tuesday in the explosion of a landmine planted by the Houthi group on a desert road in Al-Jawf Governorate, northeastern Yemen.

Local sources said the blast occurred as a vehicle carrying passengers was traveling on the road linking the Saudi Al-Wadi’ah border crossing and Al-Yatmah area, resulting in the total destruction of the vehicle and leaving most of the victims in critical condition.

Landmines planted by the Houthis on roads, farms, and civilian gathering areas continue to claim innocent lives and cause major material losses, amid warnings of their grave threat to the safety of residents and travelers.
