Colonel Abdullah Al-Naqeeb, Director of Security for Al-Taiziyah District in Taiz Governorate (southwestern Yemen), was killed on Thursday following the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) that targeted his car while he was driving along Jamal Street in the city center.
According to local sources, unidentified assailants planted the device in Al-Naqeeb’s vehicle before it detonated as he was on the move, leaving him with severe injuries. He was rushed to Al-Thawra General Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
