A security source in the Aden Police Department on Friday denied that any decision had been issued to dismiss the Khormaksar Police Chief, Brigadier General Abu Bakr Jabr, confirming that reports on the matter were unfounded.
The denial came after news circulated on social media claiming that Jabr had been removed from his position and replaced, in connection with the so-called “Al-Shaibani incident,” which sparked wide controversy after police refused to accept a missing passport report from a citizen on the grounds that his origins were from another governorate.
The source affirmed that the Aden Police Department continues to carry out its duties as usual, calling on media outlets and social media users to verify information before publishing or circulating it.
