Yemenia’s Newest Fleet Member: AWSAN

Yemenia Airways announced today, Friday, the addition of a new Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet. The plane arrived this morning at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

Named “Awsan” after the ancient Kingdom of Awsan, the new aircraft can accommodate 150 passengers, including a dedicated first-class section. Its first operational flights are scheduled to begin at the end of this week, as part of the airline’s plan to expand its network and improve services for passengers.

Captain Nasser Mahmoud Mohammed, Chairman of Yemenia’s Board of Directors, affirmed that this addition represents “an important step in the path of development and modernization despite the challenges.” He praised the efforts of all company employees, including pilots, engineers, cabin crew, and administrative staff.

He noted that the new aircraft reflects the company’s determination to continue expanding and strengthening its presence in the air transport market, pledging to continue working to restore Yemenia to its rightful place as a national symbol of resilience and excellence.
