Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghaleb, issued Decision No. (16) of 2025 today, ordering the revocation of licenses for “Al-Qasimi Express for Exchange and Transfers” and “Al-Marzouqi Exchange”, and the closure of their offices.
The decision was based on a field report from the Bank Supervision Sector, which revealed serious violations committed by the two targeted establishments.
With this decision, the number of money exchange companies and establishments whose licenses have been revoked or suspended by the Central Bank has now reached 52 entities, as part of an ongoing campaign to regulate the currency market and combat speculation in foreign exchange.
This move coincides with a notable improvement in the Yemeni riyal’s value over the past week, amid official efforts to strengthen monetary stability and tighten oversight of financial transactions.
