Prime Minister Salem bin Braik held an extensive meeting today, Wednesday, in the interim capital Aden. He met with the Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, along with several heads of authorities and departments from the Ministry of Defense. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss military and field developments in the fight against the Houthi militias.
The meeting covered the latest updates on the combat fronts and reviewed field reports on the combat readiness of the armed forces. It also addressed financial, logistical, and administrative needs to enhance military performance and improve the conditions of personnel.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of the Presidential Leadership Council to the military leaders. He emphasized the importance the state places on strengthening the capabilities of the military establishment as a fundamental pillar in protecting the country and restoring the state.
Bin Braik asserted that the battle being fought by the armed forces is not merely a territorial conflict, but a defense of Yemen’s and the region’s future against a sectarian project led by Iran-backed militias. He stressed the necessity of raising the level of military qualification and training to confront field challenges.
He also commended the sacrifices made by army personnel and the popular resistance on various fronts, noting that the complete restoration of the state requires continued work, coordination, and overcoming obstacles, in fulfillment of the martyrs’ blood and sacrifices.
Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz and the heads of military authorities presented detailed reports on the combat situation and readiness levels, affirming that the armed forces continue to develop their field and tactical capabilities despite the challenges.
