Egypt Approves Enrollment of Yemeni Students in Schools

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
Egyptian authorities have officially approved the enrollment of Yemeni students in both public and private schools across all educational levels, starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, according to Ambassador Ihab Fahmy, Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs.
The announcement came during a meeting held on Wednesday between Ambassador Fahmy and Yemen’s Ambassador to Cairo, Khaled Bahah, where the two sides discussed several issues concerning the Yemeni community in Egypt — with education and student enrollment topping the agenda.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the ninth round of the Yemeni-Egyptian Strategic Dialogue, which is proposed to take place in November 2025, as well as discussions regarding the High Joint Committee, whose upcoming session was agreed upon during the meeting between President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the World Urban Forum in November 2024. The final date for the session is yet to be determined.
Both sides also reviewed recent regional developments, including the ongoing Houthi threats to maritime navigation in the Red Sea, and the situation in the Gaza Strip, with Egypt reaffirming its continued efforts to broker a humanitarian truce that would allow aid to reach the besieged population.
The meeting was attended by Yemeni advisors Baligh Al-Mekhlafi and Hadi Al-Sabban, and Egyptian advisor Haitham Al-Ashmawy.
