Sirens Activated in Israel After Missile Fired from Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday evening that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, which triggered air raid sirens in several areas, including Jerusalem.

The occupation army stated in a release: “Following the alarms activated a short while ago in a number of areas within the state, the air force intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.”

The Israeli Home Front Command reported that sirens blared in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and several other areas after the launch of the aforementioned missile was detected.

According to Israeli Channel 12, this is the second missile launched from Yemen within the past 48 hours, causing flight suspensions at Ben Gurion Airport.

On Wednesday evening, Israeli media reported the temporary suspension of air traffic at Ben Gurion International Airport following a missile launch from Yemen, while the Israeli army stated its defense systems had dealt with the missile.

Israeli Channel 12 clarified that Ben Gurion Airport temporarily suspended landings and takeoffs, coinciding with the Israeli Home Front Command’s announcement of sirens sounding in the Dead Sea area due to a missile launch from Yemen.

The Iran-backed Houthi group has repeatedly announced launching missile attacks on Israeli targets, including targeting Ben Gurion Airport.
