Coinciding with Fuel Station Bombing, Yemeni Army Repels Houthi Attack in Eastern Taiz

Yemen Monitor | Newsroom:
Early Wednesday, Yemeni army forces repelled a fierce assault launched by the Houthi group on their positions along the eastern front of Taiz city, specifically in the Aqabat Muneif area and Al-Zahraa neighborhood, near the city’s eastern access point.
According to the Media Center of the Taiz Military Axis, intense clashes broke out across several frontlines near the eastern gate, during which the Houthi militia used various types of weapons in an attempt to advance and break through defensive lines.
In a related development, the same source reported that the Houthis carried out an aerial attack using a drone targeting a fuel station in the Hawdh Al-Ashraf area in eastern Taiz. The strike caused fuel tanks to explode, igniting a massive fire that spread to several nearby homes.
The attack resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to 22 others, including a child and a woman, before civil defense teams and security forces managed to contain the fire and prevent further spread.
This incident is part of a series of repeated assaults by the Houthi group on residential neighborhoods and areas near the eastern gateway, as the group seeks to reimpose a siege on the city of Taiz, disregarding humanitarian efforts and international calls to open roads and alleviate civilian suffering.
