Yemenia Announces Return of Damaged Aircraft to Service and Resumption of Flights to Amman

Yemenia Airlines has announced the return of one of its Airbus A320 aircraft to active service after completing necessary maintenance following a minor incident at Aden International Airport.

A company official stated that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, when ground support equipment accidentally struck the aircraft’s wing, prompting its temporary withdrawal from service for comprehensive repairs and an airworthiness inspection to ensure full technical readiness.

The source added that the aircraft’s first flight post-maintenance is scheduled for early Wednesday morning on the Aden–Jeddah–Aden route, under flight number IY512-3, in accordance with the airline’s regular operating schedule.

In a related development, Yemenia also announced the resumption of its Aden–Amman–Aden flights starting Wednesday, July 9, 2025, as part of efforts to expand its operations and offer more travel options to Yemeni passengers.

The airline emphasized its strict adherence to safety standards and operational efficiency, affirming that the safety of its fleet and customer satisfaction remain top priorities. It reiterated its commitment to continually enhancing its services and improving performance across all destinations it serves.
