Standing with Iran, Houthis Threaten to Target U.S. Ships in the Red Sea

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

On Saturday evening, the Houthi group threatened to target U.S. ships and warships in the Red Sea if the United States participates in any military attack alongside the Zionist entity against Iran.

The group’s military spokesperson said in a statement broadcast by Houthi-affiliated media that “any US attack or aggression in support of Israel against Iran will not go unanswered,” adding that such an act would be “an enslavement of the nation, occupation of its lands, a violation of its dignity, and the looting of its resources.”

The statement reaffirmed the Houthis’ “firm stance in supporting any Arab or Islamic country subjected to Zionist aggression,” and stressed that the group “will not abandon Gaza and will not allow the U.S.-backed Israeli entity to carry out its plans.”

The group confirmed it is closely monitoring “all hostile movements in the region” and will take “all necessary and legitimate measures to defend Yemen and its people,” according to the statement.

The Houthis described the Iran-Israel war as “a battle for the entire [Islamic] nation,” claiming that victory and honor lie in “mobilization and jihad for the sake of God.” They also declared their readiness to stand with anyone who chooses to confront Israel or is attacked by the Zionist entity in the region.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that U.S. involvement in Israel’s attacks on Iran would be “regrettable and dangerous for everyone.”

Since June 13, Israel has launched extensive attacks on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, military commanders, and nuclear scientists. In response, Tehran has fired ballistic missiles and drones into Israeli territory in the largest direct confrontation between the two sides.
