Cancer Patients in Shabwah’s “Tumor Center” Complain of Overcrowding and Lack of Equipment

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Cancer patients at the National Oncology Center in Shabwah Governorate are suffering from a deteriorating humanitarian situation within the center due to severe overcrowding and a lack of essential equipment.

Due to limited space, staff at the center are forced to administer treatment to patients in the center’s corridors and courtyards, or even inside their relatives’ cars.

Activist Ahmed Salem Faraj is calling on relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to improve the center’s conditions by expanding it and providing the necessary equipment.

He also appealed to philanthropists to quickly respond by improving the center’s environment and providing umbrellas, seats, and air conditioners for patients who are forced to wait under the scorching sun.

Faraj demanded the construction of a specialized center that can accommodate the increasing number of patients annually and ensure they receive necessary care in a safe and suitable environment.
