Israel Announces Assassination Operation in Yemen; Explosion Heard South of Sana’a

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:

Israel’s Channel 13 announced this morning that Israel carried out an assassination operation in Yemen. This comes as a surprising development amidst a broader regional military escalation, coinciding with reciprocal strikes between Tehran and Tel Aviv.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted an official as saying that “the operation in Yemen, if confirmed successful, would be highly significant,” without revealing the identity of the target or details of the operation.

Meanwhile, Axios quoted a senior official stating that Israel attempted to assassinate Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghumari, the Houthi Chief of Staff.

In the same context, local residents informed “Yemen Monitor” that a loud explosion was heard south of the capital Sana’a, coinciding with the Israeli statements regarding the assassination.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported ongoing Israeli field activity in both Iran and Yemen, simultaneously with air raid sirens blaring across Israel, indicating rapidly evolving developments on multiple fronts.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority also confirmed that the Israeli Air Force is currently conducting airstrikes targeting sites inside Yemen, without specifying the nature of the targets or the entities being struck.
