Marib Security Committee Vows Firm Response to Houthi-Linked Saboteurs Who Blocked International Highway
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Security Committee in Marib Governorate announced on Wednesday that outlaws led by Abdullah bin Saeed bin Jalal—who is reportedly assigned by the Houthis—carried out acts of sabotage, blocking the international highway linking Marib to Hadhramaut in Al-Wadi District, east of the governorate.
The committee stated that these elements attacked military and security checkpoints using medium and heavy weapons and attempted to set up illegal outposts and checkpoints. The aim, according to the committee, was to destabilize security, threaten public and sovereign interests, and disrupt order. Several soldiers were injured as a result of the attacks.
The committee affirmed that the armed forces and security units will relentlessly pursue the criminal elements and will not tolerate any threat to public safety. It also praised the role of Marib’s tribes in supporting the state and rejecting chaos and sabotage.
The committee called on all citizens to fully cooperate with the security services and warned against harboring or protecting any of the saboteurs linked to the Houthis or others, in order to maintain public safety and protect innocent lives.
