The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday evening that its air defenses had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.
Air raid sirens sounded across wide areas west of occupied Jerusalem and around Tel Aviv, according to the Israeli Home Front Command, following initial alerts indicating a missile had been fired from Yemen toward Israeli territory.
Hebrew media outlets reported that air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport was halted during the interception of the missile.
Israeli emergency services stated that several people were injured while attempting to rush to shelters and confirmed that field treatment was provided to individuals suffering from panic attacks.
Israeli media also reported that fragments from the interceptor missiles fell in settlements in the West Bank.
Reports indicated that the missile came close to reaching its target before being successfully intercepted.
