Iraq Emphasizes the Importance of Peaceful Solutions to the Yemeni Crisis

Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, stressed the importance of peaceful solutions and inclusive dialogue to end the crisis in Yemen and restore stability to the country.

This came during his joint meeting with Yemeni Foreign Minister Shayea Mohsen Al-Zandani, which took place at Hussein’s residence in Riyadh.

According to a statement published by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the meeting reviewed cooperative relations between Iraq and Yemen. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations in a way that serves mutual interests and opens new horizons for development and stability.

Regarding the regional situation, Fuad Hussein reiterated Iraq’s full support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at unifying efforts and restoring peace and security to Yemen. He affirmed that peaceful solutions and comprehensive national dialogue are the only path to ending the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people.

The two ministers also discussed the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad, considering it a golden opportunity to strengthen Arab solidarity and coordinate positions in facing common challenges under the delicate circumstances facing the region.
