New U.S. Airstrikes Target Houthi-Controlled Oil Port in Western Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Houthi-affiliated media reported that U.S. warplanes renewed airstrikes on Friday, targeting Ras Issa port in Yemen’s Al-Hudaidah Governorate with four air raids.

This comes as the Houthi group continues to hold around 15 ships at Ras Issa port, despite a previous U.S. strike on the port on April 17.

Since mid-March, the US has launched an unprecedented military campaign against the Houthi group, striking hundreds of targets. These include personnel—commanders and fighters—as well as infrastructure such as Ras Issa oil port and various military positions across areas under Houthi control.
