Yemen Condemns Israeli Bombing Near Presidential Palace in Damascus and Calls for International Action
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Yemeni government, through a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned the airstrike launched by the Israeli occupation that targeted the vicinity of the Presidential Palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus, describing it as a blatant attack on Syrian sovereignty.
The statement affirmed that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic, warning of the repercussions of such operations that threaten the security and stability of the entire region.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry called on the international community to bear its legal and humanitarian responsibilities and to work to stop the repeated violations and attacks carried out by “Israel” in the region.
The ministry also reiterated Yemen’s firm and supportive stance for the unity and territorial integrity of Syria.
The Israeli occupation announced on Friday that its forces had launched an airstrike last night near the Presidential Palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The spokesman for the Israeli occupation army for Arab media, Avichay Adraee, said via “X” platform (formerly Twitter): “Warplanes raided a short while ago the area adjacent to the palace of Ahmed Hussein al-Shar’a in Damascus,” referring to the current head of the transitional administration in Syria.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, said in a joint statement: “Israel attacked last night near the Presidential Palace in Damascus. This is a clear message to the Syrian regime.”
The statement added: “We will not allow forces to move south of Damascus and pose any threat to the Druze community,” according to his expression.
