Washington Announces Directing 800 Military Strikes Against the Houthis in Yemen Since March

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has carried out 800 military strikes against the Houthi group in Yemen since mid-March, as part of a military campaign it described as “intense and sustained.”
CENTCOM stated in a post on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter) that the airstrikes aim to “restore freedom of navigation and US deterrence” in the region.
It is worth noting that the US had resumed its attacks against the Houthis on March 15, following orders from President Donald Trump to launch a “major offensive” against the group, with the threat of “completely eliminating them.”
Despite these threats, the Houthis have continued to bomb sites inside Israel, in addition to targeting ships heading there in the Red Sea.
CENTCOM affirmed that it carried out its operations based on “detailed and comprehensive intelligence,” while claiming that it seeks to ensure lethal effects against the Houthis while minimizing risks to civilians, highlighting the significant challenges related to the military operation in a densely populated area.
