Residents in the city of Marib (eastern Yemen) said on Thursday morning that a large explosion was heard in the center of the city, which is under the control of the internationally recognized government.
Sources told “Yemen Monitor” that airstrikes targeted the Houthis in Al-Balaq mountain range adjacent to the city and the main point of engagement between government forces and the armed Houthi group.
The sources added that other airstrikes targeted the Houthis in the Haylan mountains and in the Sirwah area west and south of Marib city.
The airstrikes coincided with similar raids targeting several areas in the neighboring Sana’a Governorate.
