Al-Alimi Meets Consultation and Reconciliation Commission to Discuss Unifying Yemeni Ranks Against the Houthis

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Presidential Advisor and Deputy Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, Abdelmalek Al-Mekhlafi, emphasized the importance of the recent meeting between His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the leadership of the Commission along with secretaries-general of political parties and factions.
Al-Mekhlafi noted that the meeting aligns with the current need for unity and a shared vision during this critical phase in Yemen’s history, as the country continues its struggle to restore state institutions and navigate regional and international shifts.
The meeting also highlighted the positive role played by the Arab Coalition—led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates—in supporting Yemen’s legitimate leadership in political, economic, and military fields, while reinforcing efforts to restore state authority and achieve peace.
Within the framework of strategic discussion, participants explored the role of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission and its leadership in backing the Presidential Leadership Council and implementing the necessary strategy to achieve the current stage’s goals.
The discussions addressed local, regional, and international developments, and how to respond to them in a way that serves Yemen’s national goal of state restoration, security, and stability—including the legitimate right of the Yemeni people and armed forces to resist the Houthis and liberate the country from their criminal actions.
Commission leaders and party representatives conveyed the people’s views, suffering, and aspirations to end the “dark decade” caused by the Houthis, defeat the revivalist Imamate project, and restore peace to Yemen.
President Al-Alimi concluded the meeting by emphasizing the need for internal unity to confront the Houthi militia, in addition to tackling economic challenges, increasing resources, combating corruption, and alleviating the suffering of citizens.
