Angry Protests Erupt in Marib and Taiz Over Gaza Genocide and Condemnation of International Silence

Yemen Monitor / Marib:
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets in the cities of Marib (east) and Taiz (southwest Yemen) on Wednesday in angry demonstrations condemning the ongoing genocide carried out by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.
The demonstrators denounced the tightened blockade imposed on the besieged enclave and strongly criticized what they described as the “shameful” international silence in the face of war crimes and acts of genocide.
Protesters waved Palestinian flags and held up banners demanding an end to the “genocide and ethnic cleansing” of Gaza’s residents, affirming their full solidarity with the Palestinian people.
They also condemned the continued Israeli airstrikes, which have resulted in more than 165,000 people killed and injured, according to Palestinian statistics.
The protesters renewed their calls for urgent international action to halt the aggression, protect civilians, and lift the oppressive siege, holding world powers responsible for their complicity in the ongoing Israeli crimes.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators marched through the streets of Taiz, raising the flags of Palestine and Yemen and carrying banners demanding an end to the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. They also condemned the global silence surrounding the tragedy.
Since October 7, 2023, and with U.S. support, Israel has been committing what has been widely described as acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 166,000 Palestinian casualties—mostly women and children—and more than 11,000 missing.
