Hadramout Governor Directs Intensification of Environmental Oversight and Field Inspections of Investment Facilities

Hadramout Governor, Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madhi, has directed the intensification of environmental oversight and field inspection efforts on all facilities in the governorate, emphasizing the importance of adhering to environmental standards and ensuring the safety of the environment and citizens.

This came during his meeting with the Director-General of the local branch of the Environmental Protection Authority, Engineer Najwa Anis bin Zaydan. During the meeting, she presented a summary of field reports on the environmental and health situation in a number of various investment and health facilities. She also reviewed the inspection campaigns targeting water desalination plants and recreational parks to ensure their compliance with requirements, emergency plans, and waste management.

Governor bin Madhi affirmed that preserving the environment is a top priority for achieving sustainable development in Hadramout, stressing the necessity of not being lenient with any party that invests in or manages a project without full compliance with the applicable safety and environmental standards.

The directives highlighted the importance of environmental monitoring to ensure the safety of the community and the environment hosting the projects, focusing on the necessity of guaranteeing citizen health and safety through the strict application of environmental requirements.

These steps came in response to the significant environmental changes facing the governorate, according to official reports from the branch of the Environmental Protection Authority, which confirmed the continuation of follow-up and evaluation to ensure environmental goals are met and regulations are effectively implemented.
